Festool WR 140 R Clockwise Spiral Stirring Rod 140mm M14

At a Glance: Heavy-duty 140mm clockwise spiral stirring rod with an M14 connection for mixing up to 50kg of dense and difficult-to-stir material.

Mix heavy construction compounds thoroughly and efficiently with the Festool WR 140 R clockwise spiral stirring rod. Its robust right-hand spiral geometry moves dense material from the bottom of the mixing container towards the top, continuously circulating the mixture and incorporating heavier material that would otherwise remain at the base. The twin-spiral mixing head works its way smoothly into viscous compounds, making it ideal for tile cement, filling compounds, flooring mixtures, ready-mixed plaster, screed and smoothing cement. With a 140mm mixing-head diameter, 625mm overall length and a working capacity of up to 50kg, the WR 140 R is designed for substantial professional mixing tasks. Its M14 internal thread provides a strong, direct connection to the compatible Festool RW 1000 stirrer.

Powerful bottom-to-top mixing action

The clockwise WR 140 R spiral is designed to lift heavy material from the bottom of the container and move it upwards through the mixture. This circulation helps distribute dry and wet ingredients more consistently, reducing unmixed deposits around the base of the container and promoting a smooth, workable compound. The open spiral design also allows the paddle to penetrate dense materials without simply pushing the entire mixture around the container.

Product Highlights

  • Clockwise spiral action: Moves material from the bottom of the mixing container towards the top for thorough circulation.
  • Made for demanding mixtures: Designed for stiff, dense and difficult-to-stir construction compounds.
  • Up to 50kg mixing capacity: Suitable for substantial professional batches when used with the correct mixer and container.
  • Large 140mm mixing head: Provides effective movement through medium-to-large quantities of material.
  • Twin-spiral geometry: Works its way smoothly into heavy material while promoting consistent blending.
  • Strong M14 connection: The internal thread provides a direct and secure fit to the compatible mixing machine.
  • Generous 625mm length: Allows practical use in suitably deep mixing containers while supporting an upright working position.
  • Professional Festool construction: Engineered for dependable performance in workshop, installation and construction applications.

Extra Information

  • The letter R identifies the right-hand or clockwise spiral configuration.
  • Clockwise rotation lifts heavy material from the bottom of the container towards the surface.
  • The 50kg rating describes the maximum intended material quantity and should not be exceeded.
  • Actual mixing performance depends on material density, viscosity, container shape, mixer power and selected speed.
  • This paddle is intended for heavy and difficult-to-stir mixtures rather than low-viscosity paints and thin liquids.
  • Always follow the compound manufacturer&s specified water ratio, mixing time and resting time.
  • Clean the spiral immediately after use before cement, plaster, adhesive or filler can harden on the surface.
  • The mixing machine, container and adapters are not included.

Pro Tips

  • Add the liquid to the container first when recommended by the compound manufacturer, then introduce the dry material gradually to reduce dust and clumping.
  • Begin at the lowest practical speed with the mixing head fully immersed to minimise splashing and airborne powder.
  • Move the paddle slowly around the container while occasionally guiding it closer to the sides and base to incorporate all material.
  • Keep the spiral submerged during mixing, but avoid forcing it hard against the bottom or walls of the container.
  • For materials requiring a resting period, allow the mixture to stand for the specified time and then briefly remix before application.
  • Use a round, sturdy container with enough free space above the material to accommodate circulation without overflowing.
  • Do not mix a larger batch than can be applied within the product&s stated working or pot life.
  • Remove uncured residue with the appropriate cleaning method immediately after use, as hardened cement-based material can be extremely difficult to remove.

How to Use

  • Disconnect the mixing machine from its power supply and inspect the paddle, shaft, welds and M14 thread for wear or damage.
  • Confirm that the mixer has the correct M14 spindle, clockwise rotation and sufficient capacity for a 140mm stirring rod.
  • Screw the WR 140 R securely onto the mixer spindle and tighten it according to the machine manufacturer&s instructions.
  • Place a stable mixing container on a level surface and add the ingredients in the sequence specified by the material manufacturer.
  • Insert the stirring head fully into the material before switching on the mixer.
  • Start at low speed to reduce splashing and prevent dry powder from being thrown out of the container.
  • Increase the speed gradually and guide the paddle steadily around the container while keeping the machine under control with both hands.
  • Allow the clockwise spiral to lift material from the bottom while moving the paddle through the centre, sides and lower areas of the mixture.
  • Continue mixing for the time specified by the compound manufacturer until a consistent texture is achieved.
  • Reduce the speed before switching off and allow the paddle to stop completely before removing it from the mixture.
  • Disconnect the mixer and clean the stirring rod immediately using a method suitable for the mixed material.

Features

  • Right-hand spiral: Designed for clockwise rotation and an upward material flow.
  • Bottom-to-top circulation: Lifts dense material from the base and returns it through the mixture.
  • 140mm paddle diameter: Provides effective coverage in suitably sized mixing containers.
  • 145mm mixing-head height: Creates a substantial working area for moving thick material.
  • 625mm overall length: Offers useful reach for professional mixing applications.
  • M14 internal thread: Provides a robust threaded connection to the compatible mixer spindle.
  • Heavy-material design: Suitable for compounds that require stronger circulation than lightweight paints or liquids.
  • Open mixing geometry: Allows material to move through the spiral rather than being pushed around as a single mass.

Benefits

  • More consistent mixtures: Continuous circulation helps combine ingredients evenly throughout the container.
  • Improved bottom mixing: The upward flow reduces the risk of heavy or dry material remaining at the base.
  • Efficient work in viscous compounds: The spiral penetrates demanding mixtures and keeps them moving through the mixing zone.
  • Reduced manual effort: Purpose-designed geometry allows the power mixer to process heavy compounds more effectively than an unsuitable general-purpose paddle.
  • Large-batch capability: The 140mm head is suitable for mixing material quantities of up to 50kg.
  • Secure power transfer: The M14 threaded connection supports reliable transfer of torque from the mixer to the paddle.
  • Cleaner project results: A properly blended compound provides more predictable consistency during application and finishing.

Application

  • Mixing tile cement and tile adhesive.
  • Preparing filling and levelling compounds.
  • Mixing flooring compounds and floor screed.
  • Preparing ready-mixed plaster.
  • Mixing smoothing cement.
  • Blending dense mortar-type construction compounds.
  • Combining powdered products with water according to the material manufacturer&s instructions.
  • Re-mixing heavy compounds that have settled during use.
  • Professional building, renovation, flooring, tiling and plastering work.

Compatibility

  • Specified Festool machine: Festool RW 1000 stirrer.
  • Tool connection: M14 internal thread.
  • Other mixing machines: Use only when the manufacturer confirms a compatible M14 spindle, suitable rotation direction and adequate power for a 140mm paddle.
  • Important: This is not an ErgoFix or FastFix connection. An approved adapter may be required for machines using a different tool holder.
  • Material capacity: Suitable for quantities up to 50kg, subject to the density of the mixture and the capacity of the mixing machine.

Safety

  • Wear suitable eye protection, gloves, safety footwear and respiratory protection appropriate for the material being mixed.
  • Read the material label, technical data sheet and safety data sheet before mixing.
  • Disconnect the mixing machine before fitting, removing, cleaning or inspecting the stirring rod.
  • Do not use the paddle if the shaft, spiral, welds or M14 thread is bent, cracked, excessively worn or damaged.
  • Confirm that the paddle is securely attached before starting the mixer.
  • Use a stable mixing container placed on a level, non-slip surface.
  • Keep hands, clothing, electrical cables and other objects away from the rotating paddle.
  • Operate the mixer with both hands and maintain a stable working position.
  • Start at low speed with the paddle immersed to reduce splashing and airborne dust.
  • Do not exceed the 50kg material capacity or the operating limits of the mixing machine.
  • Do not use the paddle to mix flammable, explosive, food-grade or otherwise unsuitable materials.
  • Take appropriate electrical precautions when working near water or wet compounds and use suitable residual-current protection.
  • Never touch the mixture or stirring rod until the machine is switched off, disconnected and completely stationary.
